ARL Welcomes New Member: Consus Energy

Consus Energy is a platform that turns property developers and landlords into their own green energy suppliers, generating new revenue streams, profitably cutting carbon emissions, and saving tenants money.
Ìý
We make this possible by installing smart battery systems inside buildings and connecting them to our cloud-based energy platform. The batteries charge from the grid when power is cheapest and cleanest, then supply the building during expensive peak hours. By buying energy in bulk from the wholesale market and storing it intelligently, Consus enables buildings to run on low-cost, low-carbon electricity, reducing tenant bills by around 20 %, delivering £1,000–£1,200 in annual net revenue per unit, and cutting Scope-2 emissions by over 90 %.
Ìý
Our mission is simple: to make every rental property a micro-utility that can generate savings and sustainability at scale. Behind the scenes, Consus handles everything, installation, optimisation, billing, and ongoing monitoring — through an intuitive digital platform designed for landlords, not engineers.
Ìý
Consus Energy is a VC-backed UK start-upÌýsupported by academics from University College London (UCL)Ìýand Imperial College London, andÌý held together by Google. Together, we are building the infrastructure to decarbonise the rental housing sector while creating a new asset class for investors an developers: distributed, revenue-generating clean-energy systems.
Ìý
By empowering property developers to control how their buildings use and trade energy, Consus Energy is accelerating the energy transition across rental markets, one building at a time.
Ìý
It’s not just green, it’s gold.
